Who we are:
Venus (Nature) Rodriguez-McGregor BS, CD, CCE was born in San Juan,
Puerto Rico and moved to NY when she was 8 years old. She lives in Rockland County, NY
with her husband and 3 children. Venus began her education in Rockland Community College
where she first discovered her interest in helping other women. She received her degree in
psychology with the hopes of becoming a therapist for women and young girls. After having her
first child in a hospital she felt that there had to be another way for women to give birth. Her
second child was born at The Childbirth Center P.A., when it was operating. There she
discovered the wonderful world of Midwives and instantly wanted to be a part of that.
Venus found out about becoming a Doula and finally felt that she found her way to assist
women! She became a certified Doula with ALACE in the winter of 2000. For the birth of
her third child she sought after the care of her colleague and dear friend Valeriana
Pasqua-Masback CNM. With her help Venus was able to have a wonderful homebirth
experience. Venus feels that having birthed her three children in such different environments has
given her special insights that have helped her while she attends births.
Venus went on to receive her Lamaze Childbirth Education certification in the fall of 2004.
then received her BS from SUNY Empire State College in Human Development-Early
Infant and Maternal Health and Development in May of 2006. As of January 2008 she has
been enrolled in The National College of Midwifery , and is now attending Homebirths as a
student Midwife with the mentorship of Valeriana Pasqua-Masback CNM. She is very excited
about this new journey!
Currently Venus is teaching Holistic Childbirth Education Classes in two locations, soon to
be three. On Wednesday afternoons her classes are available at the Westchester Planned
Parenthood clinic and on Saturdays in Jersey City, NJ at two local clinics, soon the classes will
be available in Scarsdale, NY, more information on these classes TBA.
